In the honour of the ‘Feast of St. John Bosco: the Father and Founder’ of the Salesians, the Salesians of Bosco Boys’ Home (BBH), Borivali invited the neighboring communities of the Sisters, the Friends, Well-wishers, Volunteers and Benefactors of BBH and the Parents and Families of the Salesians of the Borivali region on the 30th January, 31st January and 1st February respectively for a get-together and a thanksgiving solemn supper to thank them for the love, care and support shown to the boys and the community.
Fr. Corlis Gonsalves sdb, the Rector of BBH, thanked and appreciated each group for the kindness and generosity shown by them towards Bosco boys. He shared with them the life of Bosco boys and thanked them; specially the volunteers and benefactors for helping the Salesians to give to the boys the joy, happiness and care they deserve. In detail, then he explained to them the works carried out by the Salesians in the house especially the Technical, Hotel Management courses for boys and the newly started General Duty Assistant- Nursing and Beautician course for the girls. He also brought to the notice the women empowerment project carried out by BBH for the Basti women with the courses of Bakery, Cookery, Tailoring and Soft skills.
A PowerPoint presentation was shown to the guests displaying the activities done in the house with the background song ‘Power of the dream’ ringing in the ears of the guests reminding them the help they were giving to each boy to realize their dream and bring it to reality.
The whole community of Salesians of BBH thanked and blessed the extended family of guests with an assurance of prayer and blessings of Mary Help of Christians to them.
