“Thank you for being the reason I smile” was theme for the thanksgiving programme for Fr. Provincial Godfrey D’Souza sdb organized by the children of Bosco Boys Home, (BBH), Borivali on 20th July, 2019.As the term of Fr. Godfrey as the Provincial of Mumbai Province is coming to its culmination, the Management, Staff and the children of BBH saw it fitting to give him a sweet and entertaining good-bye by thanking him for the special predilection he had for BBH.
The children welcomed Fr. Provincial with a Hindi welcome song “Swagatham Dear Father Swagatham”. The Technical boarders sang the song “Never Alone” by Lady Antebellum for Fr. Provincial by letting him know that they are always praying for him and his apostolate. The CWC boys presented a fusion dance to the tune of songs from the movies Bharat and Kalank. In between, the children from CWC, Post 10, Technical and Working sector came forward and thanked Fr. Provincial personally for the “being the reason of their smile.” They shared their testimony of how through Don Bosco institute their lives changed and brightened up. Which was followed up by a beautiful address thanking Fr. Provincial for his service to the Mumbai Province. The 3 different cards from the CWC, Technical and the Working Boys were presented to the Fr. Provincial as a token of love. The Rector of BBH, Fr. Corlis Gonsalves, then thanked Fr. Provincial Godfrey D’Souza for being there all the time for the BBH family. Fr. Provincial appreciated the gratitude show by the children and reminded them to be obedient to the Salesians so as to be happy and successful in their life.
