A simple act of kindness can make a tremendous impact on a person’s life.” This is indeed seen at Bosco Boys Home (BBH), Borivali where the generosity and sacrifice of the benefactors and volunteers make a big difference in the lives of the orphan boys staying here and help them to grow, laugh, sing and create things which would rather be a lot difficult to do; by sharing with them their generosity and giving the boys a bright future and opportunity to fulfill their dreams (Armaan).

So to say a Big Thank you, the management, staff and boys of Bosco Boys Home had organized a “Thanksgiving Day” on 26th January at 6:00 pm at Don Bosco School, Borivali for their benefactors, volunteers and well-wishers. The programme started with the Rector of Bosco Boys Home, Fr. Corlis Gonsalves sdb welcomed the Chief guest Fr. Solomon Rapol sdb, the Rector of Don Bosco School and Parish, Borivali and the well-wishers. He also thanked them for their kindness shown towards the boys and invited them to enjoy the show presented to them by the boys. The boys welcomed everyone present with a freestyle cum hip-hop fusion dance with 6 songs infused. The highlight of the day was the Musical “ARMAAN SAB…KA” (Everyone’s dreams and desires) performed by the boys. It was a musical play based on the life of an orphan, who grew up on the streets, encounters many helping hands in his life and how after landing in BBH, fulfills his dream (armaan) of attaining happiness and freedom and overcomes his inner struggles.

The play was directed by Mr.Nizamuddin Shah and his team of Jannat Media Production also with some volunteers also helped out in the various departments of acting, dancing, makeup, stage setup, lights and sound design. The welcome dance was choreographed by Mr. Anup Kashyap and his team from Muskaan foundation. The play was written by Jittin Mathew sdb.

On asking his experience about acting in the play Om Pendekar expressed “It was a wonderful experience for me. It was first time that I did a musical. The story felt so real because everything I acted on the stage I do every day in Bosco Boys Home.” Mr. Shah the director of the play added “Every child has a dream i.e. armaan in his life. He may or may not fulfill it. It is the responsibility of the society to help every child to fulfill his armaan and make his dream a living reality, because “ARMAAN SAB…KA.” Vaneesa Lobo one of the benefactor shared, “The musical was really inspiring. It deeply touched and underlined the under currents of what goes on in the life of street boys and how they could be helped. It was an educative, emotional comedy drama with a very important social theme and Christian message.” The vote of thanks was given by Dn. Romero D’ Souza, the Perfect of Studies. In his vote of thanks, he thanked the management, the staff, the children as well as Jannat Media Production. He also thanked the Benefactors and Volunteers for their time, effort, hardwork and sacrifice. He extended his gratitude to all who were present for the Musical Play, and invited each of them to spend some quality time with the boys whenever they could.

“Infact, it was Dn. D’Souza, who conceptualized and proposed, encouraged and made this Musical (his idea) a reality- Armaan Sab…Ka!” sharedFr. Gonsalves, the Director of BBH in his message and also thanked the Jannat Media Production for their help in staging the Musical Play. Further he said, “The purpose of organizing this event was to thank the benefactors and sponsors who have supported us and also to extend our gratitude to the volunteers who come and render their services and selfless sacrifices. BBH is an NGO started in 1976 working with youngsters in order to make them responsible, God loving and productive citizen so as to enable them to earn their livelihood with honesty and dignity. Through this musical “ARMAAN SAB…KA”, we want to show that everyone of us is always in search of happiness and freedom and we will only attain it by sharing our lives with others and being a good human being.”
