On the 21st of July, 2019 the engineering students from Dwarkadas Jivanlal Sanghvi College of Engineering, Vile Parle visited Bosco Boys Home, (BBH), Borivali as part of their National Service Scheme (NSS) programme under their NSS Program Officers Prof. Rahul Taware and Prof. Vyenkatesh Bagal. In all 60 students came to BBH and took part actively in animating the 70 children of BBH.Keeping in mind the core values of spreading love and joy. The NSS unit of the college organises an orphanage visit every year. Rajas Joshi, one of the volunteer shared, “we feel that no child should be deprived of unconditional love. As part of this motto we decided to spend these quality time with the children of BBH and share with them some precious moments of smiles and laughter.”

In animating the boys, the volunteers performed a skit highlighting the virtue of true friendship followed by a creative activity where the volunteers dressed up the children as superheroes. Through which they helped the children to imbibe the quality of team building while also igniting the creative spark in their minds and building confidence. The group along with the children also performed dance and played animated games which was followed by snacks.

“Our volunteers are ecstatic to come each year to make one day of their life memorable. We as volunteers learn about their day to day routines and how they live their lives. Our hearts fill with immense love when we see them smile and laugh with us and they make us realise what we have and that we should appreciate it. We learn that hope never fades where there is perseverance. They make us feel that there is no reason to not be happy. We learn from them that sorrows never stop one from becoming joyous,” said Vikrant another volunteer.Rohit Gawda, one of the child from BBH while thanking the group said, “We are very happy you all came to meet us. You played with us, joked with us and danced with us. You made us realize the importance true friendship through your skit. Please come again. Thank you.”
