The VOLTAS (joint collaboration of Swiss based Volkart Brothers and Tata Sons Limited), one of the top ten Tata groups company in collaboration with Bosco Boys Home Technical Training Institute (BBHTI) in Borivali, jointly awarded graduation certificates to 40 students of the Refrigeration and Air-Condition (RAC) department of the Institute on March 11, 2019 belonging to the two batches of 2018 (January to June and July to December).
To ensure that only the highest level of education is imparted to its students BBHTI collaborated with Voltas, India’s largest Air conditioning and Refrigeration Company. In this joint venture BBHTI and Voltas, have collaborated to form a specifically designed course on RAC for the poor, needy and the school dropouts of the community, who are eager to learn the trade of repairing, installing and maintaining the Refrigerators and Air-Conditioners. The training was instituted, by the Institute, with the help of the VOLTAS team, over a six-month period. It includes theory sessions, taught by qualified staff of the Institute, and also practical sessions that provides hands-on training with equipment provided by the Voltas along with on job training experience.
The courses combine comprehensive technical information from the Voltas along with real world diagnostic and troubleshooting skills developed through 33 years of actual field experience by the BBHTI Instructor Mr. Maxi Fernandes.

At the graduation ceremony, the Principal of BBHTI, Dn. Romero D’Souza sdb, congratulated the students for their successful completion of the course and also encouraged them to map out a successful career for themselves by increasing their knowledge in the technical field by putting into action what they have learned in the classrooms.
Mr. Maxi Fernandes, the RAC instructor in his farewell to the students shared, “Remember the things that I have taught you. Be sincere in the job and respect your employer and the customer. Always see that safety precautions are taken care before starting the work. All the best for your future. Give your best and God will do the rest. ”.

“By imparting focused training, Voltas together with BBHTI creates professional technicians who become trained technicians, who consistently provide best. I am grateful to both for the opportunity they gave me. I would like to share this advice with the students to concentrate and clear all the doubts they have in the class hours so that on the job site they will be confident and excel themselves.” Bhavesh Koni, a student, said.
At the vote of thanks the students thanked the team of BBHTI and Voltas and created a Whatsup group so as to keep in touch with each other and to share valuable information to one another. In the concluding session, the best students of the each batch were awarded with a full kit of tools from Voltas.
Majority of the students are working in companies like Daikin, Eden Air conditioning, Gunaji Enterprises, Hot and Cold A.C, etc. Others are pursuing further studies or planning to open their own business.
