On the 5th of November, 2018 the management and staff of Bosco Boys Home had organised a Parents meeting. As the Diwali holiday came near the children of Bosco Boys Home were in happier mood as they were informed that they would be allowed to go home for few days for the Diwali celebration. Taking his opportunity, the staff decided to have a brief meeting of the children along with their parents informing them about the progress of their child and new projects been prepared for the betterment of the children.
Fr. Corlis Gonsalves, the Director of the Institute, welcomed the parents and briefed them about the upcoming programmes been planned for the children and the new rules applied by the Child Welfare Committee for the children regarding the holidays.

The Director shared, “Dear parents we at Bosco Boys Home from the month of April onwards are opening National Institute of Open Schooling for the children (NIOS) through which the children would get the Central Government Certificate and would be able to choose vocational subjects of their personal liking. This will benefit them to choose what they like and to be able to discover and develop their talents to the maximum.”
Later, the parents were introduced to the different CWC staff taking care of the various departments of the children such as health and hygiene, education, counselling, admission and documentation process by the Prefect of Studies Dn. Romero D’Souza. Then each staff explained to the parents regarding the progress of the child in each sector: education, counselling, health and hygiene, etc which concluded with the announcement of the holiday time table planned for the children by the Prefect.
The parents were given sweets to relish upon the Diwali favour along with the children. “We thank you Fathers and staff of Bosco Boys Home for taking good care of our boys. We are not able to provide them good environment to grow but with your love, care and support We have seen the changes brought in the children.” shared one of the parent.
