Bosco Boys Home in collaboration with Abhi Foundation an organization run by Mir Ranjan Negi, former field hockey player and former goalkeeper of the Indian National Field Hockey Team, began a special coaching for football and hockey on the 23rd of August 2016 at the Don Bosco School ground Borivali. 36 boys from Bosco Boys Home took part in this coaching.

Prior to the coaching a short opening ceremony was organized by Mr. Negi and his coach Mr. Ibrahim Mulla. Fr. 20160823_071210William Falcao the Rector of Don Bosco Borivali, Fr. Solomon Rapol the Rector of Bosco Boys Home, Mr. Amin the coach coordinator for Abhi Foundation and two Female Hockey coaches were among the guests present for the occasion.  Mr. Negi began with the history of Abhi foundation and how it came into being. This foundation he says is named after his son Abhi Ranjan Negi who passed away some years ago in a serious road accident. Therefore in memory of his son Mr. Negi decided to open a sports organization which would cater to all the poor boys who wish to excel in sports. In remembrance of Abhi, Fr. Solomon Rapol was invited to light the candle and Fr. Willliam Falcao who solemnly broke a coconut and declared this initiative open.  The ceremony continued with Fr. William Falcao who spoke on the importance of sports and how through sports one can discipline oneself for life. At the end Fr. Solomon Rapol thanked Mr. Negi and his team for the initiative taken to coach the Bosco Boys and for the 20160823_070345hardwork that will be put in. He also thanked the Mahanagar Gas Limited who have also sponsored for this great cause.

After the short opening ceremony the boys began their first day of football coaching with Mr. Ibrahim Mulla leading the boys into warm up exercises and intense training.
